A Day out in Notting Hill

Located in West London, Notting Hill is one of the most desirable (and instagrammable) areas.

With its iconic pastel-coloured houses and bustling markets, you can find everything from world-famous events, restaurants… or you could even meet a film star in a travel book shop (😉), either way, we love, love, love the romantic streets and it was the perfect setting for our new campaign.  We’ve put together your ultimate to-do list to tick off if you ever find yourself roaming around London town or escape on a virtual tour with us right now!

Portobello Road Market

1. PORTOBELLO ROAD MARKET

If you’re like us, then you find excitement in finding little treasures and hidden gems. On a normal day, Portobello Road is an eclectic mix of stores and cafes, but come the weekend, it comes alive with market goers and stalls filled with antiques, little gems and incredible food stalls that line the street. It’s an incredible experience, and at the top of our list!

2. ST LUKES MEWS

One of the most famous streets in London, St.Lukes Mews is charming, oh-so-photogenic, and for all the rom-com lovers, is also well-known for the film ‘Love Actually’ where Andrew Lincoln declares his love silently for Keira Knightley… iconic! It’s second on our list for obvious reasons (not so secret movie lovers over here).

The Notting Hill Travel Bookshop Blenhein Crescent

3. NOTTING HILL TRAVEL BOOKSHOP,
BLEHEIM CRESCENT

Continuing on our love for rom-coms (because who doesn’t!), is this legendary bookshop from the movie ‘Notting Hill’. If you haven’t seen it, then stop what you’re doing and watch it right now, seriously. Complete with famous blue door, and filled with some classic books, this is a must-see location, even if it’s just for a quick pic for Instagram.

4. BISCUITEERS BAKING COMPANY

You may recognise this one from being splashed all your Instagram feed. Known for its gorgeous black and white exterior, it’s one of the most recognisable shop fronts in London. They sell luxury hand-iced biscuits, chocolates and cupcakes, as well as running biscuit icing workshops in store.

Electric Cinema

5. ELECTRIC CINEMA

Built in 1910, and restored in 2001, the Electric Cinema on Portobello Road is one of the oldest working cinemas in the UK. With the preservation of original architecture throughout, the cinema is now a luxurious and unique experience. We’re talking leather armchairs, large comfy sofas or even a velvet double bed!

There’s also a bar serving cocktails, wine, beer and champagne with waiter service. Hello fancy!
