The beauty of shoes through the years....

Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe was the ultimate pin-up girl and would regularly be photographed frolicking on a beach barefoot,
however, she also knew when to put her best foot forward. A go-to for Marilyn would be a pair of heels designed
to bring any outfit to life. Whether it be heeled strappy sandals paired with velvet pants, white peep-toe pumps
with a delicate ankle strap or even a pair of classic wedges with a bathing suit; not only were diamonds her
best friend but shoes too, we’re guessing.

Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn is the epitome of class from head to toe. The starlet has always been a fashion icon who never compromised on comfortability over style. Audrey was regularly photographed in comfortable and versatile shoes made for everyday wear. For special occasions, she opted for kitten heels with a pointed toe. At other times, it was either a pair of cute ballet flats with a rounded toe, brogues or lace-up flats. Style doesn’t necessarily mean discomfort, and Audrey knew that better than anyone.

Brigitte Bardot

Another style icon who reached optimal level of comfort and fashion was Brigitte Bardot. The ultra-chic Frenchy regularly opted for a mix of shoes paired with an equally diverse wardrobe. Ranging from delicate kitten heels with a bow, to a chunkier spool heel. Brigitte also wore a slightly higher heel sometimes, usually a sling-back, paired with a chic mini dress.

Elizabeth Taylor

Screen siren – Elizabeth Taylor – set the pace for all things fashion. Her footwear was consistently timeless and paired wonderfully with some of the best ensembles possible. Cocktail dresses were regularly paired with a classic satin pump, as well as fit-and-flare skirts with a black strappy peep-toe heel. Outfits that featured an A-line skirt were well paired with a platform sling-back heel. Liz Taylor can do no wrong.
