The Ultimate Review Experience

In the lead up to International Women’s Day, we celebrated all the women who inspire us. It was a time to reflect and let those important to us know just how much they mean… and to us, that’s YOU #ReviewGirls! To say thank you for everything you bring to our brand, we launched the chance to win a money can’t buy experience in Melbourne, the home of Review! Including the keys to a Review store, a $1000 Review wardrobe, dinner, accommodation + MORE.

Tell us a bit about yourself, what do you do for work? What do you get up to in your spare time? And why do you love being a #ReviewGirl?

Hi! I’m Elise, a 27-year-old dog lover, foodie, and sunset enthusiast living in Adelaide, South Australia.
I work in the Australian Public Service which I absolutely love because of the opportunity to contribute every day to policies and programs that improve the lives of Australians.
In my spare time I can be found baking, walking my cavoodle Bailey, supporting the AFL/AFLW (go Crows!), or planning my next travel adventure.

I love being a #ReviewGirl because of the beautiful quality, flattering silhouettes, and timeless style of the clothes, which give me an extra spring in my step and the confidence to conquer the day.

How did you feel when you found out you won our International Women’s Day Competition?

I couldn’t believe it when I found out – I saw the notification, let out a little squeal, and made my colleagues check that I wasn’t imagining it!
I was having a tough time juggling a hectic period at work and finishing off my postgraduate degree, so winning this competition was such a lovely surprise.
It was made extra special as I got to share the experience with my sister, Laura, who was the inspiration for my competition entry.

How would you describe your style?

Classic and feminine – I love A-line skirts and dresses, floral prints and pastels, and tailored blazers and coats.
My style icons include Kate Middleton, Red-era Taylor Swift, Blair Waldorf (Gossip Girl) and Lemon Breeland (Hart of Dixie).

What’s your favourite current Review piece? If you can name just one that is!

It’s too hard to pick just one, but I absolutely adore my new Jewel Check Coat – it’s such an eye-catching piece and kept me lovely and warm in the chilly Melbourne air,
and I love the Amalie Dress that Laura bought – it’s so cute, and the removable collar makes it really versatile.

How was your trip to Melbourne? What did you get up to? And what was your favourite part?

The trip to Melbourne was an absolute dream. From the bottle of champagne and thoughtful gifts from the Review team waiting for us in our stunning apartment,
to the private shopping experience, spa voucher, matinee session of Hamilton and glorious dinner – it was all my favourite part!

Tell us about your private shopping experience at the Melbourne Central Boutique, what did you add to your wardrobe?

The private shopping experience at the Melbourne Central Boutique felt like starring in a rom-com.
Belinda and Evaleen made us feel so comfortable as we had the chance to explore the store and try on the beautiful new season stock.
We did very well for ourselves and went home with the Jewel Check Coat, Retro Romance Dress, Bonita Skirt, Amalie Dress, Once in a Blue Moon Dress and Ruby Romance Prom Dress.

How was dinner at Chancery Lane?  Any recommendations to Review Girls planning to go?

Dinner at Chancery Lane was spectacular. Everything we tried was delicious, but highlights included the blackberry tart martini, scallops with mustard fruit and finger lime, rib-eye with red wine jus, and the lemon curd tart.
Chancery Lane oozes opulence and glamour with its mood lighting and black marble (make sure you check out the bathroom) so is perfect for a special occasion.

What do you love most about the Review brand?

I love that Review cares about making women feel confident and comfortable and that this is at the core of their designs.
I also love that the quality and timelessness of Review pieces, which means that I can use them time and time again – I still wear pieces regularly that I bought years ago, and the Review clutch embroidered with my initials is my go-to on nights out.
