TALK US THROUGH THE DESIGN PROCESS OF THIS NEW COLLECTION.

This year Laura Ashley proudly celebrates 70 years of heritage. We were so excited to be part of this amazing collaboration between Review x Laura Ashley.

We started the design process by going through Laura Ashley’s archive of  vintage prints and selecting our favourites, we wanted to make sure they felt right for our Review customer and for the winter season. After our selection we looked at the fabrics and styling inspiration that we knew our customers would love.

WHERE DID YOU DRAW INSPIRATION FOR EACH OF THE STYLES?

Our inspiration came from looking at the long history of Laura Ashley. We loved all the images where Princess Diana wore Laura Ashley dresses, and from that created a mood board of silhouettes that align with Laura Ashley and Review aesthetics. Then it came to the fun part of designing into each selected print… it  always is like a jigsaw puzzle of prints, fabrics and design that needs to come  together harmoniously.

WITH SO MANY BEAUTIFUL PRINTS, HOW DID YOU DECIDE ON WHICH ONES TO INCLUDE INTO THE COLLECTION?

We had lots of fun going through the archives! We made the selection of our favourite prints with the design team as we wanted to make sure we are covering a variety of florals that resonate with the Review brand but also feel new and exciting.

TALK US THROUGH THE DIFFERENT SILHOUETTES.

We have taken inspiration for silhouettes from vintage samples and also by looking into the  Victorian era for ruffle details, necklines, sleeves. We were looking for ethereal and romantic silhouettes.

WHAT DID YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WORKING ON THIS COLLABORATION?

Having the opportunity to work with an established London based brand such as Laura Ashley and collaborating with their London based team on ideas for prints, fabrics and silhouette selection.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OUR CUSTOMERS ARE GOING TO LOVE MOST?

I think our customers will love all the styles in the Rosemore print. From prom dresses to soft romantic georgette dresses, they are such keepsake and limited collectable items.

HOW DO YOU THINK LAURA ASHLEY RESONATES WITH REVIEW?

Laura Ashley’s strong heritage and feminine vintage style. We also have the same appreciation for beautiful hand-drawn unique prints and quality styles. We value our loyal customers and staying true to our brand. Finding beauty in the old and reinventing it.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE STYLES? (IF YOU CAN CHOOSE!)

My personal favourite must be the floral suit in the Mayfair print. Such a fun and unique style.
